What started as a simple plan for a private ceremony quickly turned into an unforgettable wedding event at Bonaventure Senior Living of Salem. Residents recently came together to plan and host a surprise celebration for Executive Director Kelly Barrick.

After getting engaged, Barrick initially intended to keep things small and private. But once residents heard the news, they had other plans. What followed was a community-wide effort that transformed her wedding into a fabulous resident-led celebration.

Residents coordinated every single detail-even organizing a surprise bachelorette party for Barrick in the community's pub! They set up a fitting during her lunch break and helped her pick a dress from three top contenders. They arranged bouquets, selected music, and even filled the reception with home-made baked desserts. One resident, an ordained minister, even stepped in to officiate the ceremony!

'The residents truly thought of everything,' Barrick shared, 'It was amazing!'
